Robotics and Autonomous  Systems   Laboratory  (RASL)

Welcome to the homepage of Vanderbilt's RASL (Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory), which is located in Olin Hall along with the rest of the Mechanical Engineering Department. This lab is dedicated to the research in robotics, embedded systems, controls, dynamics and modeling. People from various backgrounds such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, and psychology and human development participate in this lab's research projects. Although the primary focus is on graduate research, undergraduate research is also encouraged. There are close connections with the other robotics labs on campus such as the Center for Intelligent Systems.

Please enjoy exploring our webpage. If you have any questions, we will be happy to answer you. Please contact our director, Dr. Nilanjan Sarkar by e-mail (nilanjan.sarkar {at} vanderbilt.edu).

Our research has also been featured in several newspapers and magazines. You can find clips of some of these articles here.
