RESEARCH INTERESTS

The focus of the research activities in the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Laboratory (RASL) is on the development of intelligent robotic and autonomous systems. These systems will be capable of working independently as well as in close cooperation with one or more humans. The idea is to enable the robots with some of the fundamental abilities of intelligent biological systems. Examples of such skills may include fault adaptability and detection of the interacting human's emotion. 

We would like to endow the current robotic systems with superior ability to function smoothly with humans and deal with uncertain environments. This work is integrated with the broad research activities in dynamic systems, controls, and modeling that are currently pursued in the lab.
